Ouluun haemme seuraavaa osaajaa vaihtoehtoisesti joko pysyvään työsuhteeseen tai määräaikaiseen alihankintasuhteeseen.
Linux Userspace Developer
The Linux-based Maemo platform is the software that powers mobile devices such as the Nokia N810 Internet Tablet. To make the Maemo platform even more powerful, we at the Maemo SW entity in Devices R&D are now looking for people to take it to the next level as part of the applications and platform development teams. We aim to extend the platform's capabilities as software for innovative communication and Internet devices; also by adding a Qt-based application development environment to complement the existing GTK+.
The Maemo SW Core team in Oulu is now looking to strengthen its competence with the addition of a Linux Core Userspace Developer. In this interesting and challenging role your tasks will include developing and updating Linux programs and libraries running just above kernel layer. These programs can include e.g. X server, OpenGL ES and various internal HW verification tools and utilities, depending on your interest and prior experience.
In order to join our team, you are fluent in C and Linux shell scripts. You know the interfaces applications use to communicate with Linux kernel and you are familiar with low-level Linux libraries and tools. Besides being hardworking, you are also keen to learn new methods and technologies.
Experience in product development and interaction with open source communities is a definite plus. We'll also appreciate your understanding of common Linux SW development tools, such as gcc, gdb, autoconf, gcov and strace. Experience with the techniques used in agile software development (e.g. scrum, unit testing, continuous integration) is also considered an advantage. Your prior knowledge of X server, OpenGL (ES)/3D graphics, ALSA or gstreamer can also be applicable.
If you are an independent professional not afraid of responsibility, add your expertise to our team by applying today! Apply asap at tom.laine@elanit.fi to be considered.
